AOI Data

The AOI Data section of the result panel is the bridge between the scene you rendered and the site data you brought — your Area, its terrain, its Zones, and (via the workflow steps) its geochemistry and geophysics. Like Metadata, it reflects the first active chip — the insight currently on top of the Globe.

What’s in the section #

  • Area — which Area this run used, and its size in km².
  • Area Coverage — how much of the Area the scene actually covers.
  • DEM source — the elevation model in use for this Area (a preset like SRTM or Copernicus, or your own upload).
  • Globe layers — chips for any geophysical layers currently displayed.
  • Hillshadow mask — a toggle that masks terrain shadows using the scene’s sun azimuth and zenith (shown next to it) together with the elevation model. Available on single scenes; see Zones, Geochemical & Geophysical Data.
  • Show area on map / Display labels — toggles for the Area outline and its labels on the Globe.
  • Create zone — draw a new Zone directly over the result (when you own the Area).
  • Focus area — re-center the Globe on the Area.

If you drew an unsaved area, this section also offers a Save area step (name it and save) so it becomes a proper Area.

Seeing your own data over the imagery #

Two more controls sit on the Area step of the workflow (not in this section, but part of the same picture):

  • Toggle area points (database icon) — overlays your geochemical sample points on the Globe, right over the imagery.
  • Toggle geophysical layers (layers icon) — opens the geophysical layers panel, where each layer (DEM/elevation, magnetometry, gravity, and terrain products like slope, aspect and hillshade) has its own Visualize button and legend.
