The Library is the reference catalog of everything you can analyze with: every instrument available to you and every public insight, with full descriptions of what each does and when to use it. It’s where you go to learn and compare — the actionable picker lives in the workflow; the Library is for browsing.
Open it from the book icon in the navbar (the tooltip toggles Library / Back to Globe).
Two catalogs #
A selector at the top switches the Library between two catalogs:
- Instruments — the imagery sources available to you.
- Insights — the public analytical recipes you can run.
Each has a search box and its own filters:
- For Instruments: filter by type of instrument (Multispectral, Hyperspectral, Radar, Atmospheric, Thematic) and by status (Public, Private, On-demand).
- For Insights: filter by category and by insight type.
If nothing matches, the Library shows “No results were found that match the selected criteria.”
Instrument cards & details #
Each instrument is a card showing its cover image, name, type, number of bands and ground resolution, with a short description. Learn More opens the full Instrument Details page:
- Description — what the instrument is and what it’s good for.
- Type, Launch Date, Shortname.
- Ground Sample Distance (GSD) and Revisit Period.
- Spectral bands — either a spectral-profile chart (plotted over the atmospheric transmittance curve) or the list of bands with their wavelengths.
- Categories — the insight categories this instrument supports; click one to see the insights available for it.
For orderable instruments the details page also offers a High Resolution / Order action, and for the agency hyperspectral trio a Hyperspectral shortcut into their request flow.
Insight cards & details #
Insight cards carry a description and a Learn More button that opens Insight Details — what the insight computes, and the list of instruments it can run on. Use the Library this way before building a Visual: confirm an insight exists for your instrument, understand what it measures, then head to the workflow to run it.
The Library is read-only — nothing you do here consumes anything. It’s the map of the territory; Creating a Visual is where you set out.
