Area Details, Editing & Sharing

Everything about your Areas is managed from the Areas panel in the left rail: finding them, inspecting them in the details window, editing them, sharing and deleting.

The Areas panel #

• Search areas by name, or open the filter panel to narrow by minimum / maximum km², by whether they have Zones, datasets or geophysical layers. The active-filter counter and a clear button keep it under control.
• Each area card shows the name, its size badge in km², and how many datasets, Zones and geophysics layers it carries.
• Click a card to select the area — the map centers on it.
• The ⋮ actions menu on each card offers Details, Edit, Share, Delete and Geophysical layers.

The Details window #

Opening Details gives you the full picture of an area:

• Overview — size in km², geometry type, latitude and total features.
• Location — country, state/region, province and city, plus the centroid coordinates.
• Features — the attribute columns detected in your uploaded data.
• Shared with — who on your team has access.
• Zones — every Zone with its type and the number of points in its geometry.
• Export geometry — download the area’s geometry as GeoJSON, KML or CSV for use in other software. Zones are included in every export format.
• Corner stone coordinates — the numbered list of the geometry’s vertex coordinates, expandable when there are many.

Geophysical layers are not shown here — they are visualized from the same actions menu in the Areas panel, via Geophysical layers (see Zones, Geochemical & Geophysical Data).

The Edit window #

Opening Edit shows the area as a form:

• General — rename the area; its size and detected features are shown alongside.
• Properties — the attribute columns of your datasets, at a glance.
• Dataset — upload a new geochemical sample file (CSV, TXT or GeoJSON). New samples are added to the existing ones — they don’t overwrite the previous file. Tick “Remove all existing datasets from this area” to start clean.
• Zones — the area’s Zones, each editable or deletable, plus Add New Zone to draw another.
• Geophysical layers — see what’s uploaded, add new layers, and choose the elevation source — see Zones, Geochemical & Geophysical Data.

At the bottom, three buttons: Edit Geometry opens the interactive geometry editor to reshape the polygon on the map, Add New Zone draws a new Zone inside the area, and Save Area applies your changes.

Sharing an Area #

1. Choose Share from the area’s actions menu.
2. Pick individual teammates from the list — it shows everyone in your company. If your company is organized in teams, the My Team toggle filters the list down to just the members of your team.
3. Or skip the picking entirely: Share with all team shares the area with everyone at once.
4. Teammates you share with can select the Area in their own analyses, and they also get access to the Area’s space in the Cloud — every insight exported for this Area is available to everyone who has access to it. The Area itself still belongs to you: only you can edit or delete it.

Deleting an Area #

Choosing Delete asks for confirmation before removing the area from your saved list — it stops appearing in the workflow’s Saved Areas and in the Areas panel. Files you already exported to the Cloud are kept. If the Area is shared with teammates, they lose access to it, so check with them before deleting.
